Hue Jackson: Browns 'moving on' from Josh Gordon
Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson essentially ended speculation about whether wideout Josh Gordon has a future with the team.
He doesn't.
A day after Gordon announced he's entering a rehab program and delaying his return to football, Jackson said discussion about Gordon is off the table after today.
"I think what's best for our football team is that we move on and move forward," Jackson told reporters. "He's not going to be with us"
"We wish him well ... We need to close that chapter right now. We're moving on," Jackson added.
"I'm not going to answer any more questions about Josh Gordon. I'm done with it."
Jackson said similar things about former Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel earlier this year. Manziel was later released.
The Browns indeed plan to part ways with Gordon, a source confirmed to ESPN's Dan Graziano, but a timeline was not provided. It's possible the Browns will wait until Gordon exits rehab before making anything official.
