The San Francisco Giants and New York Mets have set their rosters for Wednesday's National League wild-card game at Citi Field, where a pair of Cy Young candidates - Madison Bumgarner and Noah Syndergaard - will try to earn their team a spot in the division series against the Chicago Cubs.

San Francisco Giants

The only notable omission from the Giants' 25-man roster is veteran infielder Eduardo Nunez, who managed a .758 OPS in a career-high 141 games, but hasn't played since Sept. 25 due to a wonky hamstring. Though Bumgarner has thrown at least six innings in each of his last seven starts, the Giants will have 10 pitchers available for relief, including fellow starters Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija.

Speculation over New York's first baseman is over, as manager Terry Collins has decided to go with James Loney, leaving Lucas Duda - a career .224/.295/.364 hitter against left-handers - off the roster entirely. Otherwise, the Mets' injury-ravaged 25-man squad shapes up as expected, with three catchers and eight pitchers, including 43-year-old right-hander Bartolo Colon, available out of the bullpen.
