Kei Kamara throws shade at Columbus Crew fans

Former Columbus Crew forward Kei Kamara wasn't too pleased with his return to MAPFRE Stadium, as he was booed roundly on Sunday by fans he once called his own.

Kamara, the Crew's erstwhile top striker and Golden Boot chaser, was traded to the New England Revolution in May after he publicly dressed down then-teammate Federico Higuain when the Argentine midfielder opted not to give Kamara a penalty to round off a hat trick.

But Kamara, once a favorite in Columbus, says he was "shocked" by the reception he received from the Nordecke and decided to express his disappointment via Twitter:

"Come on. You make so many sacrifices for an organization to really boost it," Kamara said after the match, according to MLSsoccer.

"It hurts to feel something like that. The first day I stepped into this club here, I did a lot of things for the people. They say, 'For Columbus,' 'Us,' and that's what I did. So to feel like you're not 'us' and the sacrifices that you made to help build something into a fortress to take it to the top, which we did last season, and to get a reception like that shows it all."

To add insult to injury, Kamara's eventual replacement, Ola Kamara (of no relation), scored both goals for the Crew in a 2-0 win over the Revs.
