The Chicago White Sox appear poised to part ways with Robin Ventura, as the club will reportedly name bench coach Rick Renteria its new manager on Monday, according to Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times.

On Saturday, the club announced a press conference with general manager Rick Hahn has been scheduled for Monday at 11 a.m. ET, but did not provide any additional details.

Ventura's future with the club has generated plenty of speculation of late, though sources told Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports earlier this week that the White Sox were interested in signing Ventura to an extension if the 49-year-old wished to return.

Despite the club's reported willingness to extend that relationship, though, Ventura navigated a mostly forgettable tenure in Chicago, guiding the club to a cumulative 373-432 record while missing the postseason in each of his five seasons at the helm. With two games left to go in 2016, the White Sox are 78-82 and were eliminated from postseason contention back on Sept. 23.

After Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Minnesota Twins, Ventura declined to comment on the report detailing the club's plans.

"We've been over this," Ventura told ESPN. "I'll talk at the end of the year."

Renteria, incidentally, endeared himself to Ventura in his first season as his bench coach - his first job in baseball following his one-year stint as manager of the Chicago Cubs in 2014.

"He's just a good baseball guy," Ventura said. "You see the work he puts in, all the little things he does and (what he can do for) our Latin guys. His interaction. He does a lot of stuff people don't see. Gets there early, does video work. It's been great."
