Guardiola: Toure will not play for City unless he apologises on agent's behalf

Yaya Toure's time at Manchester City could be nearing an end, following his agent's comments after Pep Guardiola's decision to leave the midfielder off the Champions League squad.

It was announced earlier this month that the 33-year-old would not feature in the lucrative tournament, with Guardiola adding that Toure's work off the ball needs to improve.

The omission triggered an angry response from agent Dimitri Seluk, who said his client was "humiliated", and, that he hopes "Pep has got the balls" to admit the decision was wrong if City fails to win the Champions League.

On Tuesday, Guardiola issued an ultimatum, saying that if Toure wishes to represent the club again, he must issue an apology on his agent's behalf, according to Simon Stone of BBC Sport.

"He must apologise to his teammates, to the club," Guardiola told reporters. "If he doesn't, he won't play."

Toure was initially expected to make his season debut Wednesday during City's League Cup fixture against Swansea City, until Guardiola issued the warning.
