Houston Astros infielder Yulieski Gurriel, who signed for $47.5 million in July, may have some familiar company join him in North American baseball soon.

Gurriel's younger brother, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., put on an impressive showcase Wednesday in front of 60 scouts at Rod Carew Stadium in Panama City, Panama, according to MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez.

Lourdes ran the 60-yard dash in 6.65 seconds, took ground balls and turned double plays in the infield, shagged fly balls and showcased his arm in the outfield, and participated in multiple rounds of batting practice.

The 22-year-old, ranked the sixth-best international prospect by MLB Pipeline, was declared a free agent last month after six seasons in Cuba and is expected to put on private workouts for clubs soon.

"I have been waiting for this moment and now it became a reality," Lourdes said Wednesday. "This was my first step to the big leagues, God willing. I'm grateful for everyone who helped me get to this point."

Prior to defecting with his brother, Lourdes hit .321 with a .924 OPS in 43 games for the Havana Industriales.
