Report: Washington State's Logan Tago arrested on 2 felony charges

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

A dismal start to the 2016 season on the field for Washington State has now spread to off the field, as Jacob Thorpe of the Spokesman is reporting linebacker Logan Tago was arrested for second-degree assault and second-degree robbery late Monday night.

The charges, which are both felonies, stem from an incident early in June where the alleged victim claims Tago was one of a group of men who assaulted him and stole a case of beer he was carrying. The Pullman Police have spent the last few months conducting an investigation, and have obtained enough evidence to continue with the charges.

If convicted, it's likely that Tago's career with the Cougars would be over. Head coach Mike Leach has gone on record saying any offenses involving stealing, doing drugs, or hitting a woman would result in immediate dismissal from the team.

Tago started the opening-week loss to Eastern Washington, and is sixth on the team in tackles through two games.
