Stranger rushes Ryan Lochte following 'Dancing with the Stars' routine

After his very first performance on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte was involved in a bizarre incident, as a stranger attempted to rush the stage to approach the 12-time medalist.

The incident occurred off-screen, and was brought to attention after judge Carrie Ann Inaba interrupted her analysis to ask the stranger to "back off," according to Michael Rothstein of ESPN.

Lochte, of course, has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons since the Rio games. The 32-year-old was banned for 10 months after he fabricated a story involving a gas station incident, where he said he was robbed at gun point.

In-show host, Tom Bergeron, asked Lochte about his emotions regarding the unexpected incident.

"So many feelings are going through my head right now," Lochte said.

"A little hurt but, you know, I came out here and wanted to do something that I'm completely not comfortable with and I did and I came out here with a big smile and I had the best dance partner."
