Mike Gundy: Missed call 'a difficult way to learn a hard lesson'

Oklahoma State lost a tough one Saturday to Central Michigan, but the game-winning play the Chippewas pulled off shouldn't have occurred, and Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy wasn't too pleased with the referees after the game.

"That was a tough one," said Gundy, adding, "It's a difficult way to learn a hard lesson."

Gundy approached the referee about the questionable call and was given incorrect information.

"I asked the official and they said a penalty on offensive team with clock expired cannot end the game," Gundy told the media. He continued, "I'm disappointed in my call and I'm disappointed in the play they made at the end."

In defeat, Gundy still praised Central Michigan and the Mid-American Conference, who are known for handing losses to big programs.

"I don't think there's any question that we have respect for that league, they're notorious for upsets," said Gundy.
