Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton took some licks during Thursday's 21-20 loss to the Denver Broncos.

After getting shaken up in the third quarter on a DeMarcus Ware sack, Newton appeared to be out of sorts after a hard helmet-to-helmet hit in the final minute of the game.

Newton stayed in the game despite the league's concussion protocol that dictates any player showing signs of a head injury needs to be evaluated by the team's medical staff before re-entering the game.
