The Chicago Bears are set to sign Pro Bowl guard Kyle Long to a four-year, $40-million extension, containing $30 million in guarantees, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Long had two years remaining on his rookie deal after the Bears exercised his fifth-year option.
The fourth-year pro excelled in 2015, boosted by his move back to his natural guard position after a year at right tackle.
Long has been sidelined since Aug. 18 with a shoulder injury, but is expected to return to practice this week.
