Rangers promote Drury to assistant GM
Former New York Rangers captain Chris Drury has been named the team's new assistant general manager, the Rangers announced Friday.
Drury, 40, suited up for the Rangers from 2007-2011, serving as captain for his last three years with the club. He previously served as the team's director of player development.

The Connecticut native began his NHL career in 1998 with the Colorado Avalanche. He also played for the Calgary Flames and Buffalo Sabres before signing with the Rangers.
In 1998-99, Drury scored 44 points in 79 games to capture the Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie. He won the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 2001.
