Entering the game as 22-point favorites, most pundits expected Tennessee to roll over Appalachian State, but the Mountaineers had different ideas.
After a late Tennessee touchdown to force overtime, Volunteers quarterback Joshua Dobbs scrambled for the end zone before fumbling on the 1-yard line. Luckily for the SEC East favorites, running back Jalen Hurd fell on the loose ball, providing the winning points in a thrilling comeback 20-13 win.
It certainly won't gain the team any style points, but Tennessee is off to Week 2 with a 1-0 record.
