After spending much of Tuesday cavorting around Turin and showing off his new threads, Joe Hart officially left Manchester City on Wednesday for a season-long loan with Torino.

England's No. 1 goalkeeper for the past six years was benched at his parent club upon the arrival of new manager Pep Guardiola, and has sought pastures new rather than potentially be third choice behind Claudio Bravo and Willy Caballero at the Etihad Stadium.

The widely regarded reason for Hart's demotion under Guardiola was for a supposed lack of ease with the ball at his feet, but the treatment of the former Shrewsbury Town youngster proved controversial given his 10 years of service in Eastlands.

Hart, 29, should find playing time much easier to come by on the banks of the River Po. Daniele Padelli continued as the first name on new manager Sinisa Mihajlovic's team sheet over the opening two matches of the Serie A campaign, but has never been entirely convincing since his 2013 switch from backup duties at Udinese.

Although Torino was initially tipped for mid-table mediocrity, Hart's arrival has been rapturously received and could prompt a swell of optimism for the campaign from Granata supporters - particularly given the earlier signings of Adem Ljajic, Lorenzo De Silvestri, and promising teenager Sasa Lukic.

Wednesday's closing of the summer transfer window also coincides with players heading out to represent their respective countries in friendlies and 2018 World Cup qualifiers. Therefore, Hart, named in Sam Allardyce's first squad as England boss, will likely make his Torino debut Sept. 11 at Atalanta.
