Lochte scores endorsement from cough drop company

Ryan Lochte has gained his first endorsement since all previous partners severed ties following a disgraceful incident at Rio 2016, and it's all about forgiveness.

Cough drop company Pine Brothers is the first to sign Lochte since Rio, and hopes people will give the swimmer a second chance. The print ads and commercials will similarly advertise the drops as "forgiving on your throat."

Lochte initially told police that he was held at gunpoint in Brazil, after stopping at a gas station washroom. However, Lochte's account was riddled with inconsistencies and it was revealed that he fabricated several details. As a result, Speedo, Ralph Lauren, Airweave, and Gentle Hair Removal all terminated their relationships with him.

"We all make mistakes, but they're rarely given front-page scrutiny," Rider McDowell, CEO of Pine Brothers said via ESPN's Darren Rovell. "He's a great guy who has done incredible work with charities. I'm confident that Pine Bros. fans will support our decision to give Ryan a second chance."

Lochte helped the U.S. win the 4x200m freestyle relay at Rio 2016.
