Joe Hart's future is far from resolved after Everton manager Ronald Koeman ruled out a move for the out-of-favour Manchester City goalkeeper.

The Dutch gaffer maintains he never had an interest in the England international - despite reports to the contrary - leaving Hart in limbo following what appeared to be an emotional goodbye to City fans in Wednesday's tilt with Steaua Bucharest.

BBC Radio 5 Live's Juliette Ferrington stated:

Less than 24 hours after Joe Hart's apparent farewell from Manchester City, Everton manager Ronald Koeman has categorically ruled out any move for the England goalkeeper.

Koeman said in his press conference "there is no interest" when asked directly about Hart, and when asked if there had been any interest in him at all the Everton manager replied, "No... No... No...!!!"

Koeman distancing himself from a move for Hart would leave Maarten Stekelenburg - who joined from Fulham earlier in the transfer window and has performed well in three fixtures - between the sticks, with Joel Robles acting as his deputy.

Claudio Bravo's switch from Barcelona's Camp Nou to Etihad Stadium, meanwhile, was completed on Thursday, with the 33-year-old Chilean expected to vault to first-choice under Pep Guardiola. Willy Caballero would then shuffle back into his old, familiar bum-groove on the substitutes' bench, leaving Hart - No. 1 for club and country since 2010 - as third choice.

Guardiola succeeded Manuel Pellegrini at the City helm this summer, and found Hart, 29, lacking in the qualities he looks for in a shot-stopper. The primary reason is believed to be that the former Shrewsbury Town youngster lacks an assurance in possession that the Spaniard views as a requisite from his times in charge of Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Hart, a winner of four Premier League Golden Gloves, has 302 top-flight appearances and 63 caps for his country.
