Questions to Answer

  • Will the new-look offensive line be able to keep Joe Flacco healthy for the entire season?
  • Can an influx of new and returning veterans make this defense a top-5 unit once again?
  • Are head coach John Harbaugh and Flacco on the hot seat if the season flounders?

Best-case Scenario

The Ravens return to prominence on the strength of a revamped defense, and the return of Joe Flacco, who missed six games last season with a torn ACL, stabilizes a shaky offense. The return of Steve Smith and Terrell Suggs bodes well, in addition to Eric Weddle coming aboard. This will be a very different looking team in 2016 should they stay healthy.

Worst-case Scenario

The injury trend continues and the Ravens are forced to appeal to backups once again. Already losing tight end Ben Watson for the season and running back Kenneth Dixon for at least September, the Ravens need key contributors to remain on the field. This is a top-heavy roster that isn't designed to handle a barrage of injuries, and if their veterans falter and rookies continue to bust, this team will bottom out and may need a complete rebuild.
