A known admirer of flying wing-backs in his preferred 3-5-2 system, Watford manager Walter Mazzarri now has someone to fill that exact role on the right flank.
The club announced Wednesday the signing of Daryl Janmaat from Newcastle, the Dutchman inking a four-year deal with the Hornets after making the switch to Vicarage Road for an undisclosed fee.

Though neither club disclosed terms of the transfer, reports earlier in the week claimed Watford paid a £7.5-million fee to secure the signature of the dependable right-back.
Janmaat, 27, joined Newcastle from Feyenoord in 2014 for £5 million, and went on to make 77 appearances for the Magpies. He found the net twice and added four assists last season.
In a seemingly concurrent move, multiple reports suggest Newcastle is on the verge of signing American international DeAndre Yedlin from Tottenham to fill the void left by Janmaat. Yedlin, a 23-year-old with blistering pace, spent last season on loan at Sunderland, where he proved capable of holding his own on the right flank.
