Jon Stewart celebrates with New Day at SummerSlam

Brooklyn wrestling fans still had a sour taste in their mouth on Sunday night from last year's SummerSlam when former "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart cost John Cena his WWE United States Championship against Seth Rollins at the Barclays Center.

Returning to the event for a second year in a row to an overly negative reaction, Stewart was named an honorary member of the The New Day, who defended their Tag Team Championship against Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Stewart replaced a missing Big E, who had been out of action in recent weeks due to a kayfabe testicular injury.

With The Club members in control of the match after nailing a Magic Killer, Stewart entered the squared circle and prevented the duo from capturing the titles.

No good deed goes unpunished, though, as Gallows and Anderson grabbed the famous political comedian and threatened to crotch him on the ring post.

This led to a returning Big E making his way ringside from the back to lay out the two men who put him on the shelf.

Even though The New Day lost due to disqualification, the WWE Universe was beyond elated to see the charismatic Big E back with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

Stewart joined the three to dance and celebrate, although his lackluster moves were clearly overshadowed by the two-time champs.
