Inter boss De Boer says Icardi's not for sale

Frank de Boer's first order of business as Inter Milan manager: Don't sell anyone.

The decorated Dutchman was appointed as Roberto Mancini's replacement Tuesday, and while his former side, Ajax, assumed the role of a selling club, De Boer insists it'll be a different story at Inter.

With several continental giants desperate for a striker - not the least of them Arsenal, who have been linked with the player - De Boer was quick to reassure Nerazzurri supporters that Argentine forward Mauro Icardi won't be sold during the summer transfer window.

"First of all we don't want to sell our key players for sure and Icardi is very important and I want to keep all of our important players," De Boer said during Tuesday's unveiling with the 18-time Italian champ, according to ESPN FC's Ben Gladwell.

"Of course we analysed the squad very carefully, but we've got to see how things develop. I want everybody to stay right now and then in a few weeks we will see if we need anything else. ...

"The season starts in two weeks' time and we're very excited and have to work hard. Of course it's not an ideal situation, that's clear, but still we have a very talented and experienced team."

While not ruling out any further moves, De Boer seems content with the squad he has a fortnight before the Serie A season kicks off.

Prior to his appointment, Inter was a busy side, adding Antonio Candreva, Dodo, Cristian Ansaldi, Ever Banega, and Caner Erkin (among others) to a squad that finished fourth last year, booking a Europa League group stage spot.

"I'm pleased with what we have," De Boer said. "We will be at one with the team and they need to believe in our philosophy like we believe in them."
