Jones, Lesnar, Machida removed from UFC rankings

Some big names are now missing from the UFC's rankings.

The promotion has removed Jon Jones, Brock Lesnar, and Lyoto Machida, all of whom have been popped by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for failed drug tests.

Jones, the promotion's interim light heavyweight champion, had been listed as the top fighter in the division. Whether he's been stripped of the interim title remains uncertain.

"Bones" was slated to fight champion Daniel Cormier in a unification bout at UFC 200, which was scrapped days before the milestone card after he tested positive for estrogen blockers. Cormier instead fought – and beat – Anderson Silva in a non-title fight.

The UFC's formerly eighth-ranked heavyweight, Lesnar returned from a five-year hiatus to beat Mark Hunt in a unanimous decision on the same card, but tested positive for a similar substance in tests taken before and on fight night. The result of the first failed test was reportedly not confirmed until after the fight, which is why Lesnar's fight was spared the kibosh.

The eighth-ranked middleweight Machida, also a former UFC light heavyweight champion, admitted to using a substance he didn't know was banned in April.
