Various reports surfaced Sunday that all paperwork had been signed by Pogba, his agent Mino Raiola, and the two clubs, and now the French midfielder merely has to receive checks from the United doctor before completing the drawn-out saga.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri said Saturday that Pogba had been asked to report for first-team training on Monday, but this latest development suggests the 23-year-old is instead England-bound - if he isn't there already.

There are slightly differing fees for Pogba being banded around by the media - some reaching around €120 million - but all amounts trump that of the previous transfer record set by Gareth Bale's sale from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid in 2013 that cost €100.7 million, according to Football Leaks.

The deal appears even more exorbitant given the fact that Pogba left United for Juventus in 2012 for a compensation package that BBC Sport believes was in the region of £1.5 million. It was an exit engineered by Pogba's vocal representative Raiola, according to then-manager Alex Ferguson, but also one which occurred following the youngster's derisory three league appearances despite possessing an undoubtedly high potential.

In his four years in Turin, Pogba has won the Serie A title in each of his seasons and helped the Old Lady to the Champions League final in 2015. Through his nifty footwork coupled with a ferocious physicality, he has emerged as one of the most highly rated players on the planet.

Pogba has been on holiday since France was beaten in the Euro 2016 final by Portugal on July 10, but Jose Mourinho stated earlier this week that he wanted the switch wrapped up by next Aug. 14 for United's Premier League curtain-raiser against Bournemouth.

The news of Pogba's medical broke when Juventus had just completed a warmup match against West Ham United, with United readying for its Community Shield clash with Leicester City.
