West Ham's seemingly endless search for a striker has brought the club to Wales, as the Hammers have put forward a £20-million offer for Swansea City's Andre Ayew, according to Sky Sports' Nick Lustig.
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic has made it clear his squad needs reinforcements for the upcoming campaign, but previous pursuits for Michy Batshuayi, Alexandre Lacazette, and Carlos Bacca failed to yield a single signing.
Current West Ham striker Diafra Sakho is also on the verge of an exit after West Brom reportedly agreed to a club-record £16-million fee for the Senegalese earlier Sunday.
It remains to be seen whether Swansea will accept the bid, considering its own shortage of players in attacking positions. Alberto Paloschi returned to Italy after a disappointing half-season at the Liberty Stadium and Bafetimbi Gomis made the switch to Marseille on a season-long loan, leaving just Ayew and Modou Barrow as the club's only senior forwards.
Lustig believes Swansea wants to sign two forwards before even thinking about making a profit on Ayew, who signed for the Welsh side on a free transfer last year.
The Ghana international scored 12 goals in 34 appearances for the Swans in his maiden Premier League campaign.
