The Philadelphia Eagles announced Saturday that the club is adding former All-Pro safety Brian Dawkins to its scouting department.

Coming aboard as a recipient of the Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship, Dawkins will be studying and taking on roles within both the scouting and football operations departments.

The 1996 second-round pick spent the first 13 years of his highly productive career in an Eagles uniform. He recorded 34 interceptions and earned seven Pro Bowl nods over that stretch before joining the Denver Broncos for his final three seasons.

The future Hall of Famer returned to the Eagles on a one-day contract to announce his retirement in April of 2012. Philadelphia retired his No. 20 during a halftime ceremony the following season.
