Jonathan Lucroy has been itching to play for a contender, and it looks like he's going to get his chance.

The Milwaukee Brewers agreed to trade the 30-year-old catcher to the Cleveland Indians, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported late Saturday night.

Lucroy has a partial no-trade clause that allows him to block a trade to Cleveland, and he must approve the deal before it can be completed.

The two clubs were also exchanging medicals, sources told Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan.

The Brewers will receive four players from the Indians if the deal is approved, a source told Rosenthal. The players potentially going to Milwaukee reportedly include catcher Francisco Mejia - the No. 6 prospect in Cleveland's system, according to MLB Pipeline - as well as shortstop Yu-Cheng Chang and outfielder Greg Allen.

Right-hander Shawn Armstrong is the fourth player headed to the Brewers, according to Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com.

Lucroy, a potential free agent at season's end, has been itching to play for a contender, and made it clear at the beginning of July that it didn't necessarily have to be in Milwaukee.

"I want to be competitive. I want to be on a team that is playing for a championship," Lucroy told Jon Heyman of Today's Knuckleball. "If that's the Brewers, great. If not, not. It's a tough situation."

The Brewers drafted Lucroy in 2007 and the two-time All-Star has slashed .284/.342/.436 with 79 home runs, 387 RBIs, and a 111 OPS+ during his seven years in Brew City.
