Broncos placing Talib, Ware on NFI list to start camp
The Denver Broncos will place cornerback Aqib Talib and linebacker DeMarcus Ware on the non-football injury list to start camp, general manager John Elway confirmed Wednesday.
Talib is still recovering from a leg injury sustained when he was shot in early June. The expectation had been that the veteran defensive back would be healthy in time for camp, so it's possible that he isn't facing an extensive stint on the sidelines.
Ware, meanwhile, is still dealing with a back issue that forced him to miss all of Denver's spring practices. A timeline for his return hasn't been made clear, but the Broncos can be expected to proceed with caution and focus on getting him healthy in time for Week 1.
Both Talib and Ware return as key components of a Denver defense that ranked as the league's No. 1 unit in 2015.
