The winner of the triple threat match for the WWE Championship at Battleground ... AND STILL WWE Champion, Dean Ambrose.

With both "Raw" and "SmackDown" management at ringside and the locker room looking on intently from backstage, WWE Champion Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and the returning Roman Reigns fought tooth and nail for the honor to be known as the best in the business at Sunday's Battleground pay-per-view.

The former members of The Shield provided fans with high spots, unlikely teamwork, and plenty of close finishes, but in the end, the "Lunatic Fringe" overcame the odds and retained the championship set for the newly unveiled "SmackDown Live."

Rollins appeared to dominate the latter stages of the match after teaming up with Ambrose to powerbomb Reigns through an announce table and hitting a superplex into a Falcon Arrow on Ambrose for a near fall. After a recovered Reigns hit a Superman punch and a spear on Rollins, Ambrose reemerged and leveled Reigns with a heavy dose of Dirty Deeds for the three count.

The victory for Ambrose means the WWE Championship now calls "SmackDown Live" home, leaving "Monday Night Raw" without a championship, at least temporarily.
