Giaccherini, the industrious 31-year-old who spent last season on loan with Bologna after failing to impress in the Premier League, is coming off a strong showing at Euro 2016 with the Azzurri, where he started four of five matches, scoring a fine goal in a victory over Belgium.
Linked with a move to Chelsea this summer - no doubt thanks to the connection with Antonio Conte - Giaccherini's agent said last month that Stamford Bridge would have been the "dream" scenario for his client.
Instead, he's now destined for a switch to the Stadio San Paolo, where he joins a Napoli side looking to strengthen its squad in a bid to upend reigning Serie A kingpin Juventus.
