Top moments from Day 1 of SEC Media Day

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

SEC Media Day has produced some great moments and even better quotes over the years. While other conferences usually conduct their Media Day over a two-day period, the SEC is done over four days.

Here are some of the best moments from the opening day:

1. SEC unveiled it's new motto:

More national championships perhaps? They aren't wrong, the conference has dominated in recent years.

2. Florida linebacker Jarrad Davis took a big shot at Tennessee:

When your program has beaten a rival eleven straight years, it's natural to be confident and that's exactly the way Florida's Jarrad Davis feels about Tennessee.

The Gators travel to Tennessee to face the Volunteers Sept. 24.

3. A pair of coaches make fashion statements....sort of:

Florida head coach Jim McElwain apparently doesn't like wearing socks regardless of the occasion. McElwain wore a suit and dress shoes, but no stockings - and looked quite content in doing so.

Meanwhile, Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason donned a jacket with a Commodore on the inside, which looked slick.
