Watch: Murray tells William and Kate how he handled Raonic's serve
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were among the first to congratulate fellow Briton Andy Murray for his Wimbledon title on Sunday, and the three got a bit of time to chit-chat before Murray hustled off to his preposterous slew of interviews.
William asked Murray how his five-month-old daughter is doing - "she's great, yeah," Murray said, "she's really good at sleeping" - before Kate Middleton changed the subject to the tennis match, which saw Murray beat Milos Raonic in straight sets.
"It was a great game to watch," Kate said.
"Was it?" Murray wondered, likely echoing the sentiments of most Canadian tennis fans.
The royal couple assured him that yes, indeed it was. Then Prince William got down to brass tacks: "What's it like facing his serve?"
Murray, who handled with aplomb a Raonic serve that touched 147 mph, explained that wandering to the back wall between return points allowed him to mentally reset and lock in.
"Well he serves a lot straight at you," Murray said. "So I would sort of retreat quite a lot to give myself a bit of extra time."
