Report: Lakers, Huertas agree to 2-year deal

Restricted free agent Marcelo Huertas has agreed to a two-year deal to return to the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The team recently tendered Huertas a qualifying offer to make him a restricted free agent. They also did the same for both Jordan Clarkson and Tarik Black.

Huertas, 33, signed with the Lakers prior to the 2015-16 season after spending four years competing in Spain for Regal FC Barcelona.

He averaged 4.5 points and 3.4 assists on 42.2 percent shooting in 53 appearances.

Huertas is currently penciled in as the third-string point guard in the rotation behind sophomore D'Angelo Russell and veteran Jose Calderon, whom the Lakers recently acquired in a trade with the Chicago Bulls in exchange for two future second-round picks and the rights to an undetermined player.
