Report: Ray Allen's reps contacted Cavaliers, Warriors

Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

Ray Allen may soon be making his long-awaited return to the NBA.

The 40-year-old's representatives have reached out to the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, according to multiple reports, informing both teams that their client is interested in a comeback.

Allen would reportedly also listen to offers from the Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs.

While Allen has not played in two years, he never officially retired, and is technically still an unrestricted free agent.

Allen spent time with the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Seattle SuperSonics, and Miami Heat over 18 NBA seasons. The UConn product has averaged 18.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists throughout his career, and owns the record for the most 3-pointers made all time.

It remains to be seen what Allen has left in the tank, but the word around the league is that he's remained in great shape since last playing for the Heat.
