Joey Votto is quickly making a name for himself as the funniest - and possibly most hated - player in Major League Baseball.

Votto was up to his usual antics Friday during the Reds' 3-2 loss to the Nationals, when the All-Star first baseman ventured into foul territory in right field to make a slick grab in the bottom of the 11th inning.

A noted trickster who has a habit of egging on fans, Votto stared down Nats enthusiasts after making the catch as he debated whether to toss them the souvenir. After getting showered with boos, Votto decided he wasn't in a sharing mood and snickered as he returned to the Reds' dugout with the ball.

"I was just having fun with them. They give you a hard time during the game and it's my way of giving them a hard time back," Votto said after pulling the same prank on Phillies fans in May. "Really, it's just me playing around."
