Watford announced Thursday the club has signed highly-touted young striker Jerome Sinclair on a free transfer out of Liverpool, penning the Englishman to a 5-year deal.

The 19-year-old is the Hornets' first signing of the 2016-17 Premier League campaign and joins the club with fond memories of Anfield, having been the youngest player to ever represent the Reds when he made his debut at 16 years of age.

Liverpool explained on its official website that since Sinclair is under the age of 24, he would have been subject to compensation in the form of a development fee, and, as such, he was allowed to leave after he saw out his contract with the club, which presumably expired this week.
