Report: FA agitated by Hodgson's team selection vs. Slovakia
Senior officials within the Football Association have questioned Roy Hodgson's decision to shuffle his first team ahead of England's final group stage match against Slovakia.
Daniel Taylor of the Guardian reports that high-ranking FA members are unsettled by the manager's team selection after England failed to register a win against Slovakia and finished behind Wales in Group B, a place that could potentially see the team's journey at Euro 2016 come to a premature end if its paired with a difficult opponent in the knockout stage.
The report adds that Hodgson's role as manager is also in jeopardy now that England misses out on a chance to play one of the four third-place teams who will advance and now have to play the runner-up in Group F.
Hodgson made six changes to England's starting XI, as the Three Lions went on to struggle to produce a goal against the stubborn Slovakian back line. The goalless draw resulted in England losing its place atop the Group after registering four points in the opening two matches against Russia and Wales.
The disappointment within England's governing body, as Taylor suggests, stems from Hodgson's choice to give Wayne Rooney a rest despite the England captain being under the impression he would start the match.

Although being paired with the runner-up from Group F won't necessarily provide the toughest test for England, it's the daunting prospect of going up against hosts France in the quarterfinals that's caused concern within the FA and throughout England.
