Watch: Ronaldo misses crucial penalty, Portugal held to draw by Austria
Somebody put a hex on Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese star peppered Austria's goal throughout Saturday's contest at the Parc des Princes, but found himself unable to ripple the mesh. That barren streak seemed destined to come to an end in the 79th minute, when he stepped to the spot to assume responsibility for a penalty he earned.
And then he did that.
20 – Cristiano Ronaldo (20 shots, 0 goals) has attempted more shots at #Euro2016 than nine other teams. Toil.

Portugal, utterly dominant throughout the contest - particularly in the opening half - was forced to settle for a goalless draw with an overmatched Austrian side. As a result, the Seleccao, sitting on two points, go into their final contest of the group stage needing a result against Hungary to secure progression to the knockout rounds of the tournament.
