Report: Alabama's Maurice Smith to transfer

Alabama defensive back Maurice Smith is transferring out of the program, a source told Matt Zenitz of AL.com.

The fourth-year senior has already graduated from Alabama and will subsequently be immediately eligible to play at any school. Before seeking his release from Alabama, Smith was competing for playing time in the Crimson Tide's nickle packages.

Last year, Smith played in all 15 games for the national champions, recording 15 tackles and one sack.
