Watch: Vardy's close-range strike brings England level with Wales

Roy Hodgson went from villain to hero after his decision to bring Jamie Vardy on as a second-half substitute paved the way for England's equaliser against Wales.

Just over 10 minutes after replacing Harry Kane, Vardy found himself alone in front of goal to knock in a close-range effort to bring the match level at 1-1.

There were questions over whether Vardy was offside, but replays showed Welsh defender Ashley Williams played him onside when he inadvertently headed the ball into the Leicester City forward's path.

The goal inevitably caused a beer shower at the Lille fans zone where English fans cheered wildly and threw their overpriced drinks into the air:
