Olivier Giroud spurned a couple of early chances to give France the lead in the opening match of Euro 2016 against Romania, but the bearded striker finally made good on an opportunity in the 57th minute, leaping to meet a cross from Dimitri Payet and flick a header beyond Ciprian Tatarusanu to give the host nation a 1-0 lead.
