Trent Richardson has Hall of Fame aspirations

Despite being arguably one of the biggest draft busts in recent memory, Baltimore Ravens running back Trent Richardson still has lofty goals for his NFL career.

Richardson believes that when he decides to end his playing career, he'll have earned a bust in Canton, Ohio.

"Putting on a yellow jacket," Richardson told CSN Mid-Atlantic's Chris Miller when asked how his story would end.

Richardson was chosen third overall by the Cleveland Browns in 2012, but was traded to the Indianapolis Colts for a first-round pick after a solid rookie campaign.

His impact in Indianapolis was minimal, as he averaged about 3.2 yards per carry in two seasons and was ultimately released after the 2014 season.

Richardson attributes his struggles to an inability to focus solely on football due to off-field issues.

"As a person at that time, mentally (I) wasn't stable enough to play football, for any level," Richardson said. "My mindset wasn't right for it. I had too much going on outside of football. The football was always there, but everything that carried on outside the field, it carried onto the field. I couldn't think about football all the time. Football became little to me at the time."

Richardson was picked up by the Ravens this offseason, and the 25-year-old understands this is likely his last chance to succeed in the NFL.

"This is a good chance of being my last ride when it comes to proving myself in the NFL," Richardson said. "I know myself that I'm not done in the NFL, don't want to be done. I got a taste of what that felt like. To tell my kids that their father didn't have a job, it was big for me. I'm here. I'm going to be here for a while."
