The report comes five days after City signed Ilkay Gundogan from Dortmund for a reported fee of £20 million, and goes against a story published in March by AS. The Spanish daily claimed that Real Madrid had sealed a deal with the Gabonese forward, whose childhood dream is to play for Los Blancos as he promised his grandfather that he would play at the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to Fabrizio Romano and Marcus Christenson of the Guardian, City would have to pay in the region of £55 million for Aubameyang, who would be the replacement for Wilfried Bony in the likely event that he leaves the Etihad Stadium.
