Two of the fastest cars through the first half of Sunday's Indianapolis 500 belonged to teammates Ryan Hunter-Reay and Townsend Bell, but disaster struck for the pair during Lap 117.
With the caution flag out, the pair attempted to exit pit lane, when they lined up three-wide beside Helio Castroneves - whose car clipped Bell's and sent him sideways into Hunter-Reay.
Bell was penalized for Unsafe Release from Pit Box. All three drivers remained on the lead lap.
