Baseball world split over Syndergaard's quick ejection

Noah Syndergaard was given the quick hook by home plate umpire Adam Hamari on Saturday after the New York Mets starter threw behind Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley in the third inning.

The 99-mph fastball appeared to be in retaliation for Utley's leg-breaking slide to former Mets infielder Ruben Tejada in the NLDS last season, though the starter's sudden ejection angered some who felt Syndergaard should've first received a warning:

Not everyone felt Syndergaard deserved a second chance, though, given the pitch looked to be thrown behind Utley with full intent:

The Citi Field home crowd made their stance very well known, blaming Utley for the mess that also saw Mets skipper Terry Collins ejected for arguing the decision:
