The Orlando Magic have quickly opened their head coaching search following Scott Skiles' sudden resignation Thursday.

Ex-Phoenix Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek and former Indiana Pacers bench boss Frank Vogel are on the list of possible names to replace Skiles, CBSSports' Ken Berger reports.

Hornacek spent two-and-a-half seasons with Phoenix, going 101-112 during his tenure. The 52-year-old quickly fell out of favor with Suns management despite finishing second in Coach of the Year voting just two years before he was fired.

Vogel spent the last six seasons with the Pacers, posting a record of 250-181. Renowned as a defensive specialist, Vogel was ultimately let go after failing to assemble an elite offense during his time in Indiana.

San Antonio Spurs assistant and former Magic interim coach James Borrego, former Magic assistant Patrick Ewing, and current assistant Adrian Griffin are reportedly other candidates for the position.
