Report: Rockets to interview Mike D'Antoni

The list of candidates up for the Houston Rockets' head coaching vacancy continues to grow.

The Rockets are set to interview former Phoenix Suns bench boss Mike D'Antoni sometime this week, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.

The 64-year-old D'Antoni won Coach of the Year in 2005 for his role in shaping the memorable "Seven Seconds or Less" Suns that dominated the league with a pace-and-space offense led by Steve Nash.

He racked up a record of 389-253 in Phoenix and guided the team to three deep playoff runs. His offensive philosophies have also proliferated throughout the league as teams have aimed to replicate the success Phoenix enjoyed.

D'Antoni, however, failed to replicate his success after leaving Phoenix. He coached the New York Knicks to a 121-167 mark, then led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 67-87 record before taking a few years off.

He would later reemerge as an associate head coach for the Philadelphia 76ers.
