The Chicago White Sox turned a triple play Friday against the Texas Rangers.

After the dust settled, the official scoring on the play was a 9-3-2-6-2-5. It was the club's first triple play since Sept. 18, 2006 against the Detroit Tigers.

According to SABR's triple play data base, that was the first triple play of its kind in MLB history.

For the Rangers, this is the seventh time in club history that they've hit into a triple play, and the first since 1991.
