Saturday's Outfielder Value Rankings

Bill Streicher / USA TODAY Sports

Here are theScore's outfielder value rankings for Saturday, April 23:

Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Bryce Harper (WAS) vs. MIN 10
Carlos Gonzalez (COL) vs. LAD 9
Yoenis Cespedes (NYM) at ATL 9
Joc Pederson (LAD) at COL 8
Starling Marte (PIT) at ARI 8

Harper has more home runs (8) than strikeouts (7) to start the season. Not much more needs to be said about Harper as he will be in everyone's cash game lineup and he should be in yours too.

Though Gonzalez has a tough matchup against Dodgers' RHP Kenta Maeda, an owner of a remarkable 0.47 ERA in three games started, the Rockies outfielder has already crushed three home runs while cashing in five RBI. He's the best contrarian play at OF for Saturday's slate.

Mid-Tier Targets

Name Opponent Value
Brock Holt (BOS) at HOU 7
Christian Yelich (MIA) at SF 7
Ryan Braun (MIL) vs. PHI 7
Mike Trout (LAA) vs. SEA 7
Jose Bautista (TOR) vs. OAK 7
Mookie Betts (BOS) at HOU 7
Ryan Raburn (COL) vs. LAD 7
J.D. Martinez (DET) vs. CLE 7
Dexter Fowler (CHC) at CIN 7

Holt's inexpensive salary and away splits of two homers and eight RBI make him a no-brainer to roster on Saturday. Yelich is well protected in the Marlins lineup, but has just one home run and five RBI. He's hitting .370 with an outstanding 1.038 OPS, though.

Trout and Bautista come with hefty price points but can be used as contrarians. DFS owners should pay up for Bautista's power upside against Oakland's righty Chris Bassitt, even though Bassitt traditionally doesn't give up many longballs.

Fowler boasts a brilliant 0.87 BB/K percentage and has already scored 14 runs. He has produced big numbers to start the season and DFS owners should take full advantage while it lasts.

Name Opponent Value
Giancarlo Stanton (MIA) at SF 6
George Springer (HOU) vs. BOS 6
Nelson Cruz (SEA) at LAA 6
Michael Conforto (NYM) at ATL 6
Andrew McCutchen (PIT) at ARI 6
Michael Saunders (TOR) vs. OAK 6
Jay Bruce (CIN) vs. CHC 6
Yasiel Puig (LAD) at COL 6
Mark Trumbo (BAL) at KC 6

Stanton's 2016 campaign hasn't started the way he would have liked, crushing just three homers with 10 RBI. He is still a threat to take any pitcher yard at any at-bat and has 11 career homers versus the Giants. For now, use him in tournaments until he heats up.

Puig's lofty price doesn't match his floor. He isn't worth paying up for in cash games, but there is plenty of value in tournaments playing at Coors Field.

The Orioles' bats have been a prime DFS stack so far this season and Trumbo's five bombs and 1.081 OPS has been a big part to the teams success. The downside is, Trumbo will be playing at Kauffman Stadium, one of the toughest ball parks to hit a home run in.

Name Opponent Value
Gregory Polanco (PIT) at ARI 5
Justin Upton (DET) vs. CLE 5
Colby Rasmus (HOU) vs. BOS 5
Miguel Sano (MIN) at WAS 5
Jason Heyward (CHC) at CIN 5
Jeremy Hazelbaker (STL) at SF 5
Jacoby Ellsbury (NYY) vs. TB
Stephen Piscotty (STL) at SD 5
Lorenzo Cain (KC) vs. BAL 5

Polanco has been wildly inconsistent over his last six games, with him generating two multi-hit games and the other four games registering just one hit, altogether. His cost has dipped, but never count out his high upside.

With Indians RHP Corey Kluber off to a rocky start, a big game could be in the cards for Upton. If Kluber finds his groove, Upton could be in trouble. He's a high-risk high-reward play.

Though he is slotted in as the Twins' clean-up hitter, he doesn't have much help around him which resulted in a below-average .245 with just two bombs and five RBI.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opponent Value
Matt Kemp (SD) vs. STL 4
Adam Eaton (CWS) vs. TEX 4
Adam Jones (BAL) at KC 3
Denard Span (SF) vs. MIA 3
Curtis Granderson (NYM) at ATL 3
Billy Burns (OAK) at TOR 3
Billy Hamilton (CIN) vs. CHC 2
Carlos Gomez (HOU) vs. BOS 2

Kemp has cooled off drastically since his hot-start, and facing Cardinals' RHP Michael Wacha hinders his daily fantasy value. Eaton hasn't launched a home run, but is batting a stellar .305. He has plenty of value because of his stolen base potential.
