The Vancouver Canucks have signed goaltender Thatcher Demko to a three-year entry-level contract, general manager Jim Benning announced Wednesday.
Demko, drafted 36th overall in 2014, recently completed his third season with Boston College, leading the Eagles to a berth in the NCAA Frozen Four. Demko posted a record of 27-8-4 with a .935 save percentage and 10 shutouts in 39 games this season, the latter setting a new single-season school record.
The 20-year-old was also a finalist for the 2016 Hobey Baker Award, given to the top player in college hockey.
The team released a handy highlight video, putting the old eye test up against his numbers.
