Von Miller: Everyone who's counted Manziel out is wrong

Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller has been one of Johnny Manziel's most vocal supporters since his release in March by the Cleveland Browns, and the Super Bowl 50 MVP still believes the troubled quarterback can get his life back on track.

Manziel hasn't shown many signs of progress of late. He was reportedly a passenger in an alleged hit-and-run, was accused of trashing a rental property after a drug-fueled party, and his agent Drew Rosenhaus issued Manziel an ultimatum on Wednesday: seek treatment within five days or find new representation.

Miller is intent on helping Manziel prove his doubters wrong, though - the same way Miller did after his six-game suspension at the start of the 2013 season for violating the NFL's drug policy.

"I want to help get Johnny back to Johnny Manziel," Miller said Saturday, according to Avi Zaleon of The Dallas Morning News. "Johnny Football, that's beside the fact. I want to get Johnny back to being Johnny Manziel. I remember what it was for me when I was in a similar situation, it was the people around me that helped motivate me to get to the same Von that I was.

"He's had people walk out on him. He's had people who have given up on him. I'm not going to be that guy. I've never been that guy. Johnny's my brother. I didn't play with him at Texas A&M, but he's my brother and we have a unique relationship. I'm here to help him no matter what it is. I'm tied to him, good or bad. You can't ever count anybody out and I think everybody who has counted him out is just wrong."

Miller emphasized again that despite recent reports, he's not living with Manziel, but did say he's in daily contact with him.

When asked if Manziel has been receptive to people's attempts to help, Miller said, "I don't know about other people, but he's my brother. It's been a brotherly relationship since day one."
