VIDEO: Pippen praises Warriors, but 'regular season don't win championships'

In a head-to-head matchup with the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors, Scottie Pippen doesn't believe Stephen Curry and company would stand a chance against his Chicago Bulls. But that doesn't mean he can't appreciate what the reigning NBA champions are accomplishing as they approach the 95-96 Bulls' record of 72 victories in a season.

"To see the Warriors doing what they're doing today, the way the game has changed, I think it's great," Pippen said during a recent episode of "Uninterrupted," alongside Gary Payton and former teammate Ron Harper. "I'm probably one of the Warriors' biggest fans."

Pippen accepts that records are meant to be broken. In fact, he'd be disappointed if no team ever posed a threat to the record.

"You want to see people go at them," he said. "I mean, I don't want to see that 72 stay up there and no one get close. If they break it, let them have it. But regular season don't win championships."

Should the Warriors hit 73 wins, a mark they'd need to win out to accomplish, Pippen feels that won't ultimately define Golden State's season. The only thing that matters, he says, is who walks away with hardware when it's all said and done.

"Winning 70-plus games was great for us, but as my man here say (points at Harper), '72 and 10 don't mean a thing without the ring.'"
